I am a 4th grade teacher at a small school in a small town in the coastal mountains of California between Silicon Valley and the sea.

I am technically a second year teacher although I worked as an intern in both years of my credential program.   I got my credential through CalStateTEACH.  I am in my second year with the New Teacher Project of Santa Cruz/Silicon Valley.  I plan to get a Master’s degree before I’m finished.  That puts me 1/3 of the way through my 6 year plan which seems ridiculously daunting.

More daunting, perhaps because teaching is my 2nd career.  I am in my 40’s.  I am married with two children who attend the school where I teach.  I have a fantastic husband and a silly dog.
